North By Northwest
Originally released: 1959
Bags of fun sightseeing trip round the UN, Grand Central Station and Mount Rushmore for Cary Grant in Hitch's most gleeful and skilful bit of fluff. James Mason as silky baddie Vandamm and Eva Marie Saint as his freeze-dried blonde squeeze who's not all she seems try to destroy Grant any which way they can, having mistaken him for enemy spy George Kaplan. Funny, stylish and taut, this is Bond with subtext. Also features Hitch's most spinetingling line: "That plane's dustin' crops where there ain't no crops..."
