Anyone expecting the frenetic pace, heart and humour of Kusturica's
trio of fine Gypsy films to transfer to the US will be sorely
disappointed. The film is based around the arrival of Axel (Depp) and
his cousin (Gallo) in Arizona for the wedding of Axel's uncle (Lewis)
and subsequent sexual shenanigans. Despite good performances and
some excellent moments (especially Gallo's unique interpretation of
North by Northwest), the wackiness just tires in this overlong film by a
fish out of water.
