Anne Heche
Born: 1969
Five years ago, the question most asked about Anne Heche was Anne Who? Graduating from college-years TV series Another World, she starred opposite (and subsequently dated) Steve Martin (A Simple Twist of Fate), first in a long line of brittle blondes. Balancing arthouse (Psycho) with mainstream (Volcano), many would say her smartest move was making Ellen de Generes TV’s First Lesbian. Making her directorial debut with If These Walls Could Talk 2, she has won GLAAD awards for services to the gay community, and – on the strength of Wild Side – the Oscars may not be beyond her grasp.
