Holly Hunter
Born: 1958
Do you ever look at Hollywood, and think, I'd HATE myself if I was any of those people? Except maybe Holly Hunter. As if it's not enough that the Coen brothers love her, she's a turkey-free Thanksgiving, post-Oscar glory. Which everyone thinks was for The Piano, but was actually for The Firm. She's done kooky and sexy (Miss Firecracker), hard-bitten and gun-toting (Copycat), and, er, amputee sex goddess (Crash). Cameos in A Life Less Ordinary and Jesus' Son remind you that, however awful American cinema sometimes is, well, there's always Holly Hunter, waiting patiently like Penelope to be recognised as the genius she is.
