Uma Thurman
Born: 1970
Uma Karuma Thurman, named after a goddess, plays a bored Venus in The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen, and a legend is made. The avidity with which she stripped off in Dangerous Liaisons promised a sensational future for the actress whose step-father was counter-culture hero Timothy Leary. She became ubiquitous with her role in Pulp Fiction, but a series of stupid choices – Beautiful Girls, Gattaca, Batman And Robin – culminating in The Avengers, possibly the worst film ever, means that twisting with John Travolta is all she's likely to be remembered for.
