Generally the least liked of the trilogy, Jedi also contains some of the
best moments, mainly centering on the core Luke/Vader/Emperor
trinity. The opening Jabba the Hut segment is also great, while Lucas
and director Richard Marquand inject some joie de vivre into the
sprint-to-the-finish final chapter. However, Harrison Ford is on
auto-pilot, Carrie Fisher is predominantly eye-candy and the
plotting is rather muddled - not to mention those furry atrocities the
Ewoks, and some occasionally shoddy SFX. A mixed bag, then; but there's
always joy to be taken in John Williams' virtuoso score.
