Michael Mann and Al Pacino team up again for this tight, epic journey
into the psyche of truth and the ‘tobacco' business. Russell Crowe
gives a pretty damn hot performance as the man under the pressure,
forced into revealing all for the good of the nation. Dubious stuff, but
a true story and a real lesson in film-making and film-going. As near to
total film [c.f. total football, the second half of chelsea v.
liverpool a few years back when chelsea came through 4-2 winners] as I
have seen. Tense, New York, Arabia, thrill and spill for the pot of gold
that be integrity and no wife.
