Ok, kiss and tell story of a lesbian supermodel. Bring it on! This
Emmy-lauded movie has plenty to say about the media's attitude to its
central character, whose fame eventually led to her death. Jolie
excels in the role, from the ingenue coming into awareness of her
beauty, to the heroin-desperate skeletal creature of the final
moments. Her absolute commitment to the role reads as compassion for
the character, and her performance is unrelenting. Despite TV movie
performances from other characters, and an uninspired script, Gia
works hard to be intelligent and non-sensationalist. Salutatory
viewing.
