A reactionary camp take on the space-comic, this gaudy, glossy,
Queen-scored romp merrily takes a contra-Star Wars stance, with bland
Sam J Jones as Flash squaring off against deliciously slimy villain Max
Von Sydow as Ming the Merciless. The sets are bright and over-designed,
the special effects are cheap-looking but fun, the acting over the top,
the costumes outlandish bordering on the lewd and Queen blast their
iconic rock opera soundtrack like it was their last gasp. It's all good
fun, but when you sit back and look at it, it's...well...awful.
