'Wendy' (Fiorentino) takes the money and runs. To the middle of
nowhere. She gets a job, a house, and a man with a dark secret. But her
boyfriend's after her. Not surprising, when there's a loan shark
taking his fingers as interest. She's playing to win, whatever it
takes, especially if it involves murder, spying and humiliation.
Dahl's best attempt to revive film noir. Let that be a lesson, gents.
