It's a screen combination that has you willing it to work. Brad plays
Jerry, the kinda guy you just wanna hug, paying off his dues to the mob
with one last job. Julia is his ditzy girlfriend. James Gandolfini
(better known as Tony Soprano) is the hood tasked with kidnapping Julia
as insurance that Brad sees the job through. But despite laudable
performances - especially Gandolfini - some lovely shots of Mexico,
and a lime green VW beetle, this saccharine film is lacking spice,
fatally flawed by poor writing. Did no one shout "Re-write,
senor, por favor"? Snort some salt, squeeze lemon in your eye, and
slug a tequila before viewing.
