Now embraced as the Best Bond Bar Connery (TM), 007 literally
resurrected Brosnan's career and propelled him to the top of the
A-list. He found fame in US series Remington Steele, where he played
(gasp!) a well-dressed debonair English private eye. After being
offered Bond in the early 1980s, Brosnan pursued an unimpressive film
career. Recently he has hit the right note with the likes of Dante's
Peak, Mars Attacks! and the glossy remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.
Tinged by smarm, he is an adequate pretty boy who happens to suit his Bond
role to a tee, bringing a nicely steely edge to the suaveness. We’ll
ignore Grey Owl.
