Another gormless leap into cyberspace from the clearly lobotomised
director of The Lawnmower Man. The technology, surprisingly enough,
is just a flashy excuse for a mind-bending thriller plot with plenty of
explosions. It's a really tedious mess, despite Crowe's T-1000ish
menace, and wastes its vivid supporting players (Kevin J O'Connor,
William Forsythe); probably the stupidest blip on Washington's
career curve (see also Ricochet, The Preacher's Wife).
