A film like they used to make 'em... except they don't make 'em like they
used to. Nolte is a cop straddling the line of the law in this Cold War
thriller, way past its sell-by date. A complicated plot involving
nuclear secrets, Malkovich as the inevitable mad scientist, bodies in
the desert and Connelly's breasts hardly provide motivation for
sticking around until the twist. Given America's current faith in the
police system, you know the cop did it. Go see LA Confidential instead.
