"We've got to keep fucking each other till we're all the same colour" - Jay Billington Bulworth's solution to racism. Warren Beatty's film is a satirical comedy vehicle for his own well-publicised political views. Bulworth (Beatty) is a jaded, compromised liberal senator who, in the throes of a nervous breakdown, finds salvation in telling truth for truth's sake. Critics have called this the fantasy of a sixty-something liberal in which he gets the girl and champions the oppressed – but what’s so wrong with that, especially when Beatty has such a great time sticking two fingers up at the American political machine?
