René (Gourmet) is dying for a fuck. Confined to a wheelchair in a nursing home, he's being eaten up by sexual frustration, which makes him the bitterest bastard in a ward of misfits. When he demands that his carers provide a prostitute for him, no-one wants to know except Julie (Kaci), who tries to help, though it puts her in compromising positions. Like her, first-time writer-director Sinapi never judges, but finds grace in the unlikeliest places; his no-budget, handheld digital video cameras give the film a very intimate, human feel. Challenging expected attitudes and celebrating difference, it's corruscatingly funny, and finally moving.
