Jeffrey Jones
Born: 1947
One of the wittiest character actors around, the red-haired, portly Jones has carved out a delectable niche for himself as a very funny purveyor of civilised indolence in supporting roles. Let's face it, he was robbed of an Oscar nod for his marvellously adroit and memorable turn as Emperor Joseph II in Amadeus ("Well, there it is..."). Subsequently he has excelled in Tim Burton's hands and in horror exercises like Ravenous (in which he easily steals the film). As Sleepy Hollow proved, if you need someone to round out an ensemble of outsized Gothic eccentrics and do so with dry panache, he's your man.
