There were two Bruce Lee film personas: the honed, serious kung-fu
master and the country bumpkin, fish-out-of-water who also happens to
be harder than rock. The Big Boss - the Hong Kong movie that launched him
as an international film star - and The Way Of The Dragon are examples of
the latter, and as such inferior to the more sombre Fist of Fury and the
emblematic Enter the Dragon. Jackie Chan and Jet Li were both inspired
by his example; he remains synonymous with kung-fu cool.
