An all-round mess, but not without moments of uncanny magic and horror.
There are two versions with completely different scores - seek out
Jerry Goldsmith's weird and wonderful orchestrations rather than the
horridly 80s synthesisers of Tangerine Dream. Tom Cruise and Mia Sara
are little more than extremely pretty, everyone else very ugly indeed
in this particularly unpleasant fantasy world; Tim Curry has his scary
moments as their red-horned nemesis. The unicorns look just like the
one Deckard dreams about in Blade Runner: The Director's Cut, but you
should really be watching that instead.
