"Ang Lee to direct The Incredible Hulk!" (alt.gossip)
"No way!" (irc) "Why not? Look at his range!"
(listserv) After the phenomenon of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
($100 million and counting) Lee is all over the 'net. It's his fourth
time as guest of the Academy - talent-spotters have been onto him since
The Wedding Banquet (1993). From Taiwan, via NYU, he's been equally at
home in queer San Francisco, straight-laced Regency England, uptight
New England, the Civil War South and mythical China. With exquisite
dialogue hiding fraught passions, lush cinematography and
controlled performances (and vice versa) at every turn. It would make
anyone green.
