A slick but essentially banal rites of passage drama, set
(irrelevantly) in the 50s, with Jeff Bridges as 'captain my captain'
for a crew of spiritually unformed youngsters with unlikely six packs.
It takes its time before delivering anything interesting at all, the
storm of the title which wipes out all those characters most suitable
for inspirational sacrifice. Scott gets good sight and sound from the
catastrophe, but wrecks it with dire uplift in the courtroom
conclusion. Even his brother Tony would have done a better job.
