A rather convoluted sequel that pushes up the mania and paradox quota of
the original, overlapping and folding back on its own narrative - as
well as the first film's - over and over again. The humour is as inventive
and witty as before, but the gentle nostalgia and warmth is lacking. The
effects compensate for this by being superb (even though from the
pre-computer era), while Fox and Lloyd blaze through the
time-travelling conundrums and future/past convolutions on pure
charisma. Muddled but better than most pap that passes for commercial
cinema at the moment.
