Cameron joined Roger Corman's band of merry schlockers in the late
1970s, supervising visual effects on the likes of Battle Beyond The
Stars, before graduating to direction with Piranha 2. Made a real
splash with noir sci-fi classic The Terminator, launching Arnie
Schwarzenegger into stardom. From then on "Cameron" was a
byword for unparalleled high-octane action: Aliens, The Abyss,
Terminator 2 and True Lies all outdid each other in spectacle. Reached
his theme park pinnacle with Titanic, his love story disaster flick
becoming the biggest movie of all time, earning over $1.5 billion and
winning virtually every Oscar going. Gifted if deluded auteur.
