hacker who learns the truth: that the world is an elaborate illusion,
The Matrix, a computer programme designed to pacify the 'farms' of
humans bred and harvested by sentient machines. After a nicely noir
establishing act, and the unveiling of The Matrix, the plot hurtles
along with action that breathes in all John Woo’s best tricks. It's
derivative, but the whole is vastly better than the sum of its parts.
