experience, fairytale-like from the once-upon-a-time to the moral of
the story. Blessed with social conscience and narrative gift, he has
the unique ability to write humans into being. His characters, like us,
live their flaws, in a landscape both vivid and accurate. America's
geography and political history are his binding themes, from The
Return Of The Seacausus Seven to Limbo. Novelist, actor (Gridlock'd,
Before Sunrise) and documentary-maker in his spare time, Sayles,
rough-hewn, is the filmmaker as storyteller par excellence.
