An extremely lightweight and rather vapid flick for John Carpenter,
this has Chevy Chase (the living embodiment of lightweight and vapid)
in a reworking of the HG Wells classic. Sam Neill seems conspicuously
embarrassed as the CIA agent chasing him, while Daryl Hannah is her
usual expressionless self. This wouldn't be so much invisible as
unwatchable if it weren't for the reliably decent special effects
(which, that said, could hardly be any better than the amazing 1933
James Whale/Claude Rains version).
