Absurd Cold War thriller that plays on the Reds under the Bed terror.
Phoenix plays Jeffrey Grant, an All-American boy who applies to
military school, only to discover that his parents are Russian spies. A
rogue spy code-named Scuba is bumping off FBI and KBG operatives in
California, and Poitier, an FBI agent, wants to get to him before the
Russkies do. Phoenix finds his loyalties caught between family and
country when Poitier enlists him in his search. Curious similarities
to Running On Empty. Cute but dumb.
