Rob Reiner
Born: 1947
Starting out as a comedy actor, Rob (son of Carl) really made his impact with a series of witty, satirical comedies in the early to mid-1980s, most notably This Is Spinal Tap. Through the late 1980s and 1990s, his films became increasingly slick commercial fodder, culminating in the Tom Cruise / Demi Moore / Jack Nicholson courtroom pot-boiler A Few Good Men. Reiner now finds himself in limbo: unable to produce cutting edge commercial product like Misery, and lacking the bite and hunger of his early work, he cannot generate good box office or critical reception.
