Chain Reaction
Originally released: 1996
Despite massive promotion, and a budget big enough to blow up several buildings, this pointless action movie looked like the nail in Reeves' coffin. Computers and action movies just don't go, and this is the proof. Reeves and Weisz are scientists working for a corporation that works out how to get energy from water, and are implicated in an explosion which totals the lab. Obviously higher powers are involved, but these two drop-outs manage to outwit the American government and international conglomerates, and men with big guns. Less believable than The X Files and dumber than Keanu Reeves.
