Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure
Originally released: 1989
Two hopeless high-school students need to complete a history project so they can keep their ‘band' going. Some guy called Rufus appears in a phone booth, tells them their music is essential to future world peace, and gives them laissez-faire to travel to the past and bring assorted glory boys back for their project. Zipping from Ancient Greece to medieval England to the Wild West, they pick up a mad group: Socrates, Joan of Arc, Beethoven, Freud, Napoleon, Lincoln, William H Bonney... They dump this fascinating group in the local mall, and glorious havoc ensues. Often imitated, never bettered.
